Hypnotherapy for Anxiety
Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling that we all experience at times.
It is a word often used to describe when we feel 'uptight', 'irritable', 'nervous', 'tense', or 'wound up'. When we are anxious we normally experience a variety of uncomfortable physical sensations (increased heart rate, sweating palms, jelly legs, loss of appetite) and psychological symptoms (excessive worrying, over thinking, catastrophising).
Anxiety can be brought on by a many number of things; by a fear of something that happened, or what we think happened and something which may happen. And whereas stress is something that will come and go as the external factor causing it (be it a work, relationship or money problem, etc.) comes and goes, anxiety is something that can persist for a very long time.
For many of us, anxiety is a normal, if unpleasant, part of life, but for others it can develop into something much bigger.
Studies suggest that 1 in 4 of us will develop an anxiety disorder at some stage in our life. Hypnotherapy can help.
Living with an anxiety disorder can be extremely challenging, overwhelming, scary and exhausting and it can get in the way of living day to day life and doing the things you want to do.
I specialise in hypnotherapy for anxiety, an area which has always been an interest to me as I have seen time and time again how effective hypnotherapy can be in this area.
I help clients achieve hypnosis using methods of deep relaxation which allows the body to let go of the physical symptoms of anxiety and the mind to free itself of overwhelming and ruminative thought.
Hypnotherapy can use positive suggestion to alter the the core belies and thoughts which trigger your anxiety, promoting positive change and healthy thinking styles. Hypnotherapy can use suggestion to boost confidence and self-belief whilst reducing feelings of fear, self doubt and intense worry.
Hypnotherapy can begin to teach you how to regain a sense of control and normality. It can help you understand what triggers your anxiety and equip the mind with effective coping methods for managing future events when you start to feel anxious. By teaching the mind these coping strategies, the minds ability to cope with anxiety will continue to develop over time.
